Amy Hard

Board Member

Amy is a former French, Dance, and Theatre major from George Mason University. She had a 23 year career in public education, serving as as a theatre director and educator at Robinson Secondary School. She has served as Fairfax County Public Schools as a Great Beginnings Coach and Mentor to Novice Teachers, International Guest Director at the American School of Sofia, Bulgaria, VDOE and FCPS Theatre Curriculum Writer/Developer, and recipient of the 2019 Team Excellence Award for the premiere theatre-based Global Classroom Project with partners in China. Additionally, she has led international and NYC performing arts projects including directing student performances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. 


She has served as Cappies Assistant Director, Choreographer for Cappies International, Advisor and director for Arena Stage’s Voices of Now Festival, and is performing/directing/teaching regionally at Studio Theatre, Keegan Theatre, Classika Theatre, Tsunami, Port City Playhouse, Little Theatre of Alexandria, Silver Spring Stage, and Washington Improv Theatre, among others.
